Benji Madden, 46, has truly hit the jackpot with his wife, Cameron Diaz, 52! The couple has been married since 2015, has two children, and keeps their love life largely private. However, the musician has now shared some details in Rob Lowe’s podcast Literally!, where he talks about the actress alongside his twin brother Joel Madden, and his brother’s wife, Nicole Richie, 43. And surprisingly, “fear” plays a significant role in the discussion.

It’s Joel who first brings up the word “fear” during the conversation. “They are our absolute counterparts, and we all have a healthy fear of our wives… I don’t know if I ever thought that someone could actually keep me in check,” he openly admits. The reason for this? The strength of their partners.
Nicole, for her part, has turned the musician into a more relationship-oriented person and brought more structure into his life. “We work together, but she is strong. I respect her and am a little afraid of her,” he says with a chuckle. Of course, this is meant humorously, but it’s clear that the women in their lives stand up for themselves, take their rightful place, and need partners who recognize and respect that.
Benji completely agrees with his brother’s view and adds: “I also think that when you consider these powerful women, who are just forces of nature – I think all of our wives are interesting in that way because they wouldn’t want to be with a weakling either.” Clear words that certainly add a bit of pressure. He must be a counterpart to his wife but also ensure he doesn’t have too big of an ego.
This strong image of women is essential, and undoubtedly, the couple is passing this perspective on to their children, Raddix, 5, and Cardinal, 1. Benji has also expressed his pride in his wife on Instagram, recently celebrating her success in the movie Back in Action, where he referred to her as his “queen.”
