Elon Musk’s daughter, Vivian, has criticized her father as a “pathetic man-child.” In an interview, she speaks about their estrangement.
Elon Musk, 53, has been called out by his estranged daughter, Vivian Wilson, 20, for their distant relationship. In a recent interview with the U.S. magazine Teen Vogue, the 20-year-old described the tech billionaire as a “pathetic man-child” and emphasized that she no longer wants any relationship with him.

Wilson, who came out as a trans woman in 2020, has since cut ties with her father completely. As early as 2022, she applied for an official name change to sever any connection to Musk. In the interview, she makes it clear that she has had no contact with him for years—and doesn’t want any. When asked if she feared her father’s power and influence, she responded unequivocally: “I don’t give a shit about him.” She called him a “pathetic man-child” and said, “I give him no space in my thoughts.”
Musk has repeatedly made transphobic comments in the past, including about his daughter. Among other things, he claimed she had been “killed by the woke mind virus.” Wilson, who is from Musk’s first marriage to Justine Wilson, 52, emphasized that she is not interested in her father’s money and prefers to focus on causes she cares about.
Her mother reacted positively to her coming out: “She was very supportive. (…) When I told her, she acted a little surprised at first, but then she said, ‘Yeah, sweetheart. Okay.'” She still has a good relationship with her mother. Justine Wilson and Elon Musk divorced in 2008 after eight years of marriage; in addition to Vivian, they had five other children together, one of whom died in infancy.
Elon Musk’s daughter doesn’t know how many siblings she has
When asked if she knows how many siblings she has—Musk is reportedly the father of 14 children—Wilson admitted that she’s not entirely sure. “Including half-siblings, I don’t know how many siblings I have. It’s a good fact for ‘Two Truths and a Lie.'”
She learned about Musk’s four children with Neuralink employee Shivon Zilis (twins born in 2021, a daughter born in 2024, and a son in 2025) through the media, just like everyone else, and had “no idea” about them before.
She found out about Musk’s second child with musician Grimes, 37, through a post on Reddit. As for her brother X Æ A-12, nicknamed X—the first child of Musk and Grimes—Wilson said she saw him once “when he was very little.”
“I don’t keep up with that side of the family. My mother doesn’t either. She’s divorced. I don’t give a shit what they do. That’s not my problem,” she added.
