Thirteen years ago, Mandy Capristo released her last solo album. That now seems to be changing. “A long-considered, self-determined era is beginning,” she announced on her 35th birthday on Instagram.

On Friday, March 21, 2025, singer Mandy Capristo, 35, wants to use her milestone birthday to usher in a new era. “Perhaps one of the most important gifts to myself,” writes the former Monrose member in a lengthy Instagram post. In 2012, she released her last and so far only solo album, Grace. That now appears to be changing, as Mandy announces her artistic rebirth.

Mandy Capristo: “Perhaps one of the most important gifts to myself”

Mandy Capristo is smiling. After overcoming some difficult times in recent years, the Popstars 2006 winner has found herself. That’s why she wants to use “this year […] differently.” It is meant to be “a different kind of year” for her. “A long-considered, very conscious, self-determined era is beginning. Perhaps one of the most important gifts to myself,” Mandy writes.

Music has been a part of Capristo’s life for years—”I have lived it, experienced it, written it, understood it, not understood it, felt it, captured it.” She continues:

“I withdrew, reflected on who I wanted to be. What kind of woman. What kind of person. What kind of artist—publicly or just for myself. I questioned whether I wanted to be her. With everything that comes with it. With everything I have experienced—the loud, the quiet, the fulfilling, and the unhealthy. I tried to lock her away. But in doing so, I also let a part of myself go.”

“After all these years for myself, I now want to share it with you”

Mandy Capristo has realized: Music “was never gone. It just hid itself, only to return in a different form. With a new perspective on music. With a new approach. With radical honesty—as an artist. As a person. With myself.”

For a long time, she thought music was something she had to do—”and the more I felt that way, the less I wanted it.” But now, she says, “after all these years for myself, I now want to share it with you: what I have been listening to in my ears for some time. What makes me smile so brightly. What fulfills me so deeply this time. New music. I want to slowly bring you along—into my private world, into my thoughts, into what I have created for myself. And what may soon belong to you.”

Mandy Capristo celebrates “a kind of joyful rebirth of music.” However, she is keeping to herself when exactly she will perform again and release new songs.
