A few days ago, Prince William honored star makeup artist Lisa Eldridge with an MBE. Not only was she incredibly nervous and afraid of tripping, but she now also recalls a private conversation with him.
Even at 42, Prince William still has the ability to make women (and surely often men as well) nervous. A star makeup artist has now experienced this firsthand. Lisa Eldridge, 50, had the honor of being awarded an MBE (Most Excellent Order of the British Empire) by the British heir to the throne for her achievements.
The makeup artist and beauty entrepreneur, who usually works with stars like Oscar-nominated actress Felicity Jones, 41, shared a photo of the ceremony on Instagram. During the presentation, however, she was so nervous that she not only had sweaty palms but also talked Prince William’s ear off.

Lisa Eldridge still can’t quite believe it. For the past few days, the New York Times bestselling author has been able to call herself “Lisa Eldridge MBE.” She raves that her week had already started successfully from a professional perspective.
“It began with receiving epic awards for my products.” And before she knew it, Lisa was stepping into Windsor Castle to accept her MBE “in recognition of my career and contribution to the fashion and beauty industry.” She was also lucky that Prince William was the one presenting the honors that day.
“I’m Still on Cloud Nine”
“It was truly a pinch-me moment,” Lisa Eldridge reflects in her Instagram post. She continues: “Just before I entered the grand hall to receive my MBE from Prince William, the Duke of Cambridge, I was incredibly nervous (which is very unusual for me) because I had to walk backward as part of the ceremony… and I was completely convinced I would trip and fall.”
Because of this, her hands were “a bit damp.” Additionally, she admits, “I definitely talked way too much with Prince William!” Lisa adds: “I endlessly talked about makeup, and luckily, he listened very kindly. I’m still on cloud nine from this incredibly special day.”
Lisa Eldridge’s conclusion, despite the long chat and nerves? “It couldn’t have gone any better.”
